The school also operates a small farm and sustainable gardening program in which the children, staff and parents are partners in caring for both pet and farm animals and the gardens.

Farm1

Children have access to and are able to play with pet guinea pigs, rabbits, ferrets and our galah Lucky at break times.

Farm4

Farm animals on site include alpacas, our rare breed Wessex Saddleback pig called Domino, miniature Dexter Cows, chickens and miniature goats. Children interested in the farming aspect feed the animals at the end of the day with the assistance of parents and staff supervision.

Farm5

Senior children are able to assist with veterinary visits, moving of animals and birthing of our calves. Children are able to volunteer to provide information and handling of our animals when they attend local school fairs and community events with the Larmenier Farm School animals.

Farm3

Vegetable gardens provide children with the skills to grow and nurture plants. Vegetables and eggs from the farm provide a basis for class cooking and are sold through the school to community members. This in turn assists with the upkeep of these programs.
